1. Excellent corrosion resistance
Similar to galvanized steel, an aluminum-zinc coating protects the base metal. Especially when the zinc layer is worn away, a dense layer of aluminum oxide is formed to prevent further corrosion of the base metal. Facts have proved that the service life of GL steel is 3 times that of GI steel. This is why GL steel is preferred in harsh environments.
2. Good heat resistance
Galvalume steel has good heat resistance, can withstand temperatures above 300 degrees Celsius, and is often used in chimney pipes, oven lights and lampshades.
3. High heat reflectivity
GL’s heat reflectivity is twice that of galvanized steel, so it is often used as a thermal insulation material. Therefore, it is a better choice for roofing in hot climates.
4. Beautiful appearance
GL steel has a smooth surface with sequins, which is beautiful. So it can be used directly without painting.
