Hot dip galvanized steel pipe (HDG) has been dipped in a protective galvanized or zinc coating to prevent corrosion and rust. Also, there are mainly three shades; yellow for BS-S, blue for BS-M, red for BS-H, and green for special types.
Hot-dip galvanized pipe is galvanized on round steel pipe. It starts with hot-rolled coils, which go through a process of slitting, forming tubes, and dipping into a galvanizing bath consisting of at least 98.5% pure molten zinc. The bath temperature was maintained at about 450°C. In general, the thickness of the galvanized layer is at least 320 gm/m² and will increase according to the thickness of the metal (Base Metal)
The specifications of the hot-dip galvanized steel pipe are atmospheric corrosion resistance and rust prevention, electrochemical and physical protection. This steel pipe is widely used in a variety of applications requiring advanced corrosion protection, such as outdoor offshore, irrigation piping, water mains, and power applications. In addition, it can be used for flower pot hangers in nurseries and structural molding works that require high durability, easy installation, and protection from steel corrosion.
